JAINA, in partnership with the South Asian Heart Center, is offering an evidence-based lifestyle program for Jains – the JAINA Wellness for Life or JWell program. JWell offers actionable steps for sustained health improvement and disease prevention. JWell is an unique approach to healthcare that emphasizes preventing illness and healthy living over disease prevention.
JWell is NOT a substitute or replacement for routine medical management by healthcare providers.

The goal of JWell is to raise awareness for the health epidemics affecting the Jain community through implementing education on the importance of lifestyle changes and provide practical, personalized and culturally appropriate tips on, exercise, diet and stress management.
The JWell website offers plenty of resources to support the program participants and health guides in starting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The JCSC Wellness Challenge is a program that aims to spread awareness of health epidemics prevalent in South Asians in North America. The program strongly encourages a community-wide initiative to change lifestyle choices and eating habits to live a healthier and longer life.
The goal of the Wellness Challenge is to improve collective and individual healthy score cards in six months by implementing education on lifestyle change, exercise, and stress management.
Within these six months, the program will offer plenty of activities, competitions, and resources to support the participants in starting and maintaining their health goal. Upon completion of this program, the goal is to reduce baseline body weight by a 5-7% and include 150 minutes per week of moderate level physical activity.
